Q: When and why did you start training for fighting?
ANSWER:
I’ve been wrestling since I was 12, started kickboxing a few years after that. After high school I didn’t really have a career in mind, so I pursued MMA.
Q: Who is your favorite fighter and why?
ANSWER:
I'd have to say Dustin Poirier because he embodies the spirit of what it is to be a fighter, in victory and defeat. Cory Sandhagen is up there too.

Q: What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career and why?

The key fight is always the next one, but my DWCS fight was a turning point in my career, as it really let me know that I'm at a high level and ready for the UFC.
Q: Is there a cause that you want to use your platform for?
ANSWER:
I come from a pretty rough town, so I want to show the youth that it's possible to do what you want and get more out of life if you're willing to work for it.
Q: Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you?

Growing as a man. Earning life experience. Building a strong character.

Q: Tell us about your life outside of fighting:
ANSWER:
I recently got engaged to my high school sweetheart, and we have a dog. She works very hard to support my career in MMA, and my hope is to have enough success where she doesn't have to work anymore.
Q: What is one thing that you want UFC fans around the world to know about you?
ANSWER:
I care deeply about this game. I'm still young and I'm still a student, studying every day. This is my life, and I want the fans to watch me grow as an athlete and move up the ranks to the highest level.
