Q: When and why did you start training for fighting?
ANSWER: I turned pro in 2014
Q: What ranks and titles have you held?
ANSWER: TKO World Light Heavyweight champion. #1 ranked middleweight and light heavyweight in Canada. TKO World middleweight champion
Q: What are your current ranks in martial arts?
ANSWER: Blue belt in BJJ, I focus on my MMA game - I must be a third degree black belt in the clinch and dirty boxing game lol...
Q: What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC?
ANSWER: It’s a dream come true. I worked so hard all these years, climbed the steps one by one, winning titles in TKO and now I am finally signed by the UFC.
Q: What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career and why?
ANSWER: My last fight against Shara Bullet showed the world I can compete against the best in the sport, but my last fight in Montreal was also very special for me because I had my back against the wall and I delivered one of my best performances ever.
Q: Who is your favorite fighter and why?
ANSWER: Max Holloway because of all his fighting skills, the way he approaches the sport, he’s self aware and his experience teaches us all a lesson.
Q: Do you have any heroes outside of fighting?
ANSWER: There are a lot of people I look up to, but growing up my idol was Tiger Woods, a great athlete and I love the way he handles the pressure in his own sport.
Q: Is there a cause that you want to use your platform for?
ANSWER: I’m very touched by causes that are related to animals rights and shelters. I’m a dog lover.
Q: Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you?
ANSWER: The freedom of being a pro fighter, and to always give a good performance for my fans, my team and myself. I want to be recognized as a simple, good human being who always gives his best.
Q: What was your job before you started fighting?
ANSWER: I was a cook in a Quebec City hospital
Q: Tell us about your life outside of fighting:
ANSWER: I’m married to my lovely wife Bianka, we have two amazing dogs: Nash and Nixon. Our hobbies are overall well-being lifestyle, wellness. I also enjoy cooking, I’m actually a certified chef from back in Canada, so can consider ourselves foodies. We also spend some time looking at what we will do after fighting, we already run a few air-bnb here in Florida.
