ANSWER:
I think my toughest fight to date was Michal Oleksiejczuk. He was very skilled, a veteran and I took the fight on 10 days’ notice.
Q: Who is your favorite fighter and why?
ANSWER:
Dustin Jacoby, he’s got a crazy story of perseverance to get in the UFC at 22 then get cut and come back at 32 and go on the run he has. It’s inspiring. Plus he’s my boy and I’ve got to see it all first hand.
Q: Do you have any heroes outside of fighting?

My wife, her compassion and tenacity when it comes to mothering our girls is truly remarkable. And my daughter Kingsley; she has multiple therapies many hours a week and can never say no, she works so hard and never complains. I always say we are in fight camp together

ANSWER:
I use my platform to glorify God and my lord and savior Jesus Christ and to advocate for my daughter Kingsley who has an extremely rare genetic condition that leads to incurable seizures and developmental delays.
Q: Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you?
ANSWER:
This sport forces you to look inward, problem solve, grow and put it on the line like nothing else out there. Also being a parent I think it’s so important to model to your children to chase your dreams.
Q: What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career and why?
ANSWER:
I think my fight against Julian Marquez came at such a crucial time in my career I was questioning a lot and to have a performance and victory like that helped a ton.
Q: Tell us about your life outside of fighting:
ANSWER:
I have two daughters (Kingsley and Millie) and a third on the way, my wife is a UFC vet as well, we have a mini bernedoodle named Dolly, we love cheering on the Lions during football season. Being in Colorado I get to do quite a bit of hunting and have enjoyed that as well.
Q: What is one thing that you want UFC fans around the world to know about you?
ANSWER:
What you see is what you get. I’m always doing my best to be the most authentic version of myself possible.
